Box 483, Paonia, CO, 81428, has sub- mitted a complete application for a technical revision to the Division of Reclamation, Mining & Safety for its approved Bowie No. 2 Mine, mining permit no. C- 1996 -083. Proposed technical revision no. 78 will approve the installation of six gob vent holes and the drilling of one exploration hole. One gob vent hole and its associated road is located on BRL surface. Four gob vent holes and their associ- ated roads are located on surface owned by Turkey Track Ranch. Two gob vent holes and their associated roads are located on surface owned by Derby Mountain, LLLP. The ex- ploration hole is on land managed by the BLM. Access to one gob vent hole and the exploration hole will be from the mine site, up Stevens Draw and down the new Terror Creek access road to the Terror Creek Road. Access to the remain- ing five gob vent holes will be from Stevens Gulch Road. The mine facilities are located north of State Highway 133B near the town of Bowie, CO. A pump station, three sediment ponds and unit train loadout are located south of State Highway 133B. The Fire Mountain Canal is located south of the mine facilities and north of the unit train loadout. The North Fork of the Gunnison River is located south of the mine permit boundary. The proposed mine permit area is located on the U.S. Geological Sur- vey 7.5 minute Bowie Quadrangle map within the following sections.
