Hickenlooper
Governor
Mike King
Executive Director
Loretta E. Pineda
Director
The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety is proposing to approve the release of
the coal exploration bond submitted by Western Fuels- Colorado, LLC for Notice of Intent No. X-
2008- 142 -12. The bond was submitted to cover reclamation costs of exploration drill holes in
Montrose County. The Division holds a bond of $6,063.00 to cover the reclamation cost for 9
monitoring wells and 3 pilot holes permitted under this NOL The reclamation liability of the
monitoring wells is also bonded under the New Horizon North Mine, mining permit #C- 2010 -089,
and thus the exploration reclamation bond is no longer necessary. An inspection showed that all
disturbances associated with the 3 pilot holes have been adequately reclaimed.
The legal description for the project is as follows:
Sec.25T47N R16W
Any person with an interest which may be adversely affected by this proposed decision may submit
written comments, or a written request for an adjudicatory hearing before the Colorado Mined Land
Reclamation Board, to the Division at the address above within 30 days of the second publication of
this proposed decision in the San Miguel Basin Forum.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call.
Sincerely,
Elliott R.
