However, the Division's concern with regard to public safety and the adjacent <br />wetlands and river will remain until the operator completes the construction and repair work <br />on the road as outlined in the approved plan. In order to properly protect the public and <br />environment the work approved under TR -02 needs to commence this construction season. <br />Over the past four years this operation has received an incredible amount of <br />regulatory oversight and technical scrutiny —at both the State and County level. Presently, <br />the Division has approved multiple plans to bring the site into compliance with outstanding <br />Board orders and corrective actions while providing necessary safeguards with respect to the <br />protection of public health, safety, welfare, and the environment. Technical details regarding <br />repair of the access road, as approved in TR -02, as well as information regarding the <br />protective measures associated with the existing mine roads located within the permit area, as <br />approved in CN -01, are available to both the county and interested persons upon request. <br />Should any additional information be required please feel free to contact me at the number <br />below.
