The following inForilion pertaining to wildlife• provided for use by <br />the Land Reclamation ©oard in their consideration of a mining permit <br />for Homestake Mining Company <br />Bulldog Mountain Operation, P. 0. Box 100, Creede, CO <br />The Colorado Division of Wildlife does hereby find, to the best of our <br />knowledge, that the impact of the proposed mining operation on wildlife <br />will be <br />X minor <br />moderate <br />major <br />Mine Location: T. 41 N., R. 1 W., Sections 1 & 2; T. 42 N., R. I W. Sections 22, 23, <br />25, 26, 27, 35 & 36 <br />Wildlife Species List: (may be attached) The major species which will be impacted <br />are deer and elk. Many other species of small mammals and non -game birds also inhabit <br />the area. <br />Endangered Species Impacted: None that are known. <br />Assessment of Impact on Wildlife: (may be attached) Mining activities in this <br />area have been going on for many years. As a result, the major impacts to wildlife <br />have occurred in years past. The proposed new facilities, (Areas E and F) are in deer <br />and elk winter - range. There will be some new disturbance to deer and elk in these areas <br />during winter months. <br />Mine Reclamation Recommendations: (may be attached) Exploration and service <br />roads should be closed and revegetated for wildlife habitat. The Division concurs <br />with the reclamation plans for disturbed areas 8, C, D and E.
