The implementation of straw bales will be used as
additional protection armoring the downstream side to avoid impacts of a heavy precipitation event to
the channel downstream.
1) Under the exhibit the operator mentions the fact that the stream banks will be reclaimed to 3:1 slope.
However, there is no mention of channel restoration if mining is going to take place in the stream channel.
Please explain.
Answer: No measures will be taken to reclaim the stream channel. The creek bed will be allowed to
naturally reestablish itself.
6.3.12 Exhibit "I" — Permanent Man -made Structures
Sincerely,
L & L Ready Mix
Under the Exhibit the operator stated that there are no manmade structures within 200 feet of the proposed
permit area. Please acknowledge.
Answer: This statement is correct. There are NO manmade structures within 200 feet of the proposed
permit area.
Thank you for taking the time to visit with me on the phone about these concerns. This letter will serve as our written
response.
