On behalf of Bowie Resources, LLC, (BRL), enclosed is an application for a technical
revision to install six gob vent holes and drill one exploration hole.
Project Summary
Gob vent holes are required over all longwall panels. This revision proposes one
additional GVB for panel 14 (GVB- B14F), four GVBs for panel 15 and one GVB for
panel 16. One exploration hole is also proposed by this revision. There was some
minor realignment of GVBs B14B, B14C, B14D and B14E however the overall change
in road length and disturbed area is negligible. The changes in road length and
disturbed area are incorporated in the table on Map 9. The projected dates of road
disturbance and drill pad construction were also updated on Map 9.
Right of Entry
Right of entry is granted by BRL's Federal Coal lease subject to analysis of impacts by
the surface management agency. Exploration hole SS -8 and its associated road are
located on land managed by the BLM. GVB -B14F and associated road are located on
BRL surface. GVBs B15B, B15C and B15D and associated roads are located on
surface owned by Turkey Track Ranch. The Surface Access Agreement between BRL
and Turkey Track Ranch has previously been incorporated into the permit in Volume III,
Tab 1. GVB B15A, B16A and associated roads are located on surface owned by Derby
Mountain, LLLP. BRL should have a surface access agreement with Derby Mountain,
LLLP in the next 30 days.
Affected and Disturbed Area
There will be 10.1 acres of new disturbance. The affected area will increase 1.2 acres
since most of the new disturbance is located over areas to be mined out.
