Total average vegetation cover for first hits was 91.3 percent. Allowable all -hit herbaceous vegetation cover
was also 91.3 percent. Cover by standing dead, litter, bare soil and rock averaged 0.4, 5.2, 3.1 and 0.0
percent, respectively (first hit). Average species density was 40.1 species per 100 sq. m.
PRODUCTION
(Table A -6)
Total herbaceous production in 2011 was 1,391.8 pounds per acre. Of this, 1,183.0 pounds were native
perennial forbs and 207.0 were native perennial cool season grasses. Three other lifeforms were present
at less than 2 pounds per acre.
2011 Mountain Brush Reference Area
(Photographs 46 through 63)
COVER
(Table A -7)
Native shrubs were the predominant lifeform observed in the Mountain Brush Reference Area, contributing
74.1 percent all -hit vegetation cover.
