!TRAPPER MINE!
April 11, 2013
Mr. Jared Ebert
Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
1313 Sherman St., Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
Dear Jared:
Subject: _ Trapper Mine (Permit No: C-81 -010) Technical Revision TR 111
2011 Annual Report, Appendix W
In response to comments initiated on the April 2nd adequacy review.
The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety requested additional
information concerning a discrepancy in the acreages reported in the annual reclamation
report cover form. The division request is as follows:
"According to the DRMS Annual Reclamation Report form, the acreage disturbed for
this reporting year was denoted as 1.2 acres. Section 1.2.1 of the report indicates 26.8
acres were disturbed in 2012 and of this area 11.5 acres were re- disturbed. Given this,
a total of 15.3 acres of new disturbance should have been reported instead of 1.2 acres
on form. This would yield a cumulative total acres disturbed through 2012 to be 3,150.3
acres. Please revise this form and submit a corrected copy to the Division.
Trapper's response:
During 2012 only 1.2 acres of new disturbance and topsoil stripping occurred in the M-
Pit area. During topsoil haulage in the F -Pit area, 11.5 acres of previously reclaimed
land was re- disturbed for a haul road to topsoil piles F95 -1 and F95 -2. However, in
section 1.2.1 and Table 1.1 a value of 26.8 acres was used. This value accounted for all
topsoil stripping that occurred during the year. This included 14.1 acres within the two
previously mentioned topsoil piles. It however does not indicate more than 1.2 acres of
stripping was actual new disturbance. The number will be revised to 12.7 acres to
remove confusion, as the 26.8 acres included acres that had already been counted as
stripped within the footprint of the two topsoil piles.
Concerning the second item of the adequacy review, an error was made on my part
concerning tabulation of the disturbed acres. Table 1.2 will be revised to reflect the
proper numbers.
PO.
