EXECUTIVE SUIVEVIARY
A probabilistic seismic hazard analysis of the Tenmile dam at the Climax mine, in north-
central Colorado, has been performed. Seismic sources considered in the analysis included
nine faults such as the Mosquito fault near the Tenmile dam and a background areal source
(Colorado Rocky Mountains seismic source zone). Empirical peak acceleration attenuation
relationships for stiff soil sites were used in the analysis. For typical return periods of 500
and 1,000 years, the probabilistic peak accelerations were 0.09 g and 0.14 g, respectively,
for Tenmile dam.
H:\CONTRACT\TENM1LE\iv iv M0412951500
