Mr. Tim Cazier <br />April 8, 2013 <br />Page I2 <br />Amendment No. 10 site preparation, development, and backfilling activities continued in <br />portions of the Main Cresson and East Cresson — Wildhorse and WHEX —Mine Areas. <br />Continued development and expansion of the Squaw Gulch Overburden Storage Area <br />occurred, along with expansion of the Arequa Gulch VLF. <br />Technical Revisions ( "TRs ") were submitted to and approved by the DRMS during the <br />reporting period for: <br />• TR 65: Request for Technical Revision 65 included a Specification <br />Change in Overburden Fill Testing Frequency and a Corrective Action <br />Report for Item No. 2b of Inspection Report Dated 17 April 2012 - VLF <br />Phase 5 Berm Raise Design. TR 65 was approved July 30, 2012. <br />• TR 66: Request for Technical Revision 66 included development of the <br />Process Solution Enhancement System ( "PSES "); Lab Concrete Pad and <br />Liner Extension; and Growth Medium Noise Berm Extension. TR 66 was <br />approved by DRMS on January 14, 2013. <br />Enhancement and general maintenance of stormwater control features continued in <br />2012. Other Amendment No. 10 construction activities will continue throughout 2013 <br />and beyond. <br />Reclamation accomplished in 2012 included the following projects: <br />Approximately 31 acres of disturbance associated with the Cresson Project were <br />reclaimed in 2012 as shown on the attached map. The areas were recontoured and six <br />inches of growth medium was applied prior to seeding. Each area was either broadcast <br />seeded or hydroseeded followed by 1 ton per acre of hydromulch and 1,500 pounds per <br />acre of Sustane organic soil amendment applied with a hydromulcher. These activities <br />followed the reclamation techniques defined in the Cresson Project Reclamation Plan. <br />Weed control techniques were implemented within the Cresson Project area in the <br />summer of 2012 and will continue in 2013. A report of the 2012 weed control activities <br />is included as an attachment to the Cresson Project Annual Report. <br />Per the requirements of C.R.S. 34 -32- 116(3), and C.R.S. 34- 32.5- 116(3)(a): <br />Reclamation accomplished to date: Approximately 376.5 acres <br />Reclamation accomplished during the preceding year: Approximately 31 acres of <br />disturbance associated with the Cresson Project were reclaimed in 2012 as described <br />above. <br />
