Mr. Tim Cazier April 8, 2013 Page I2 Amendment No. 10 site preparation, development, and backfilling activities continued in portions of the Main Cresson and East Cresson — Wildhorse and WHEX —Mine Areas. Continued development and expansion of the Squaw Gulch Overburden Storage Area occurred, along with expansion of the Arequa Gulch VLF. Technical Revisions ( "TRs ") were submitted to and approved by the DRMS during the reporting period for: • TR 65: Request for Technical Revision 65 included a Specification Change in Overburden Fill Testing Frequency and a Corrective Action Report for Item No. 2b of Inspection Report Dated 17 April 2012 - VLF Phase 5 Berm Raise Design. TR 65 was approved July 30, 2012. • TR 66: Request for Technical Revision 66 included development of the Process Solution Enhancement System ( "PSES "); Lab Concrete Pad and Liner Extension; and Growth Medium Noise Berm Extension. TR 66 was approved by DRMS on January 14, 2013. Enhancement and general maintenance of stormwater control features continued in 2012. Other Amendment No. 10 construction activities will continue throughout 2013 and beyond. Reclamation accomplished in 2012 included the following projects: Approximately 31 acres of disturbance associated with the Cresson Project were reclaimed in 2012 as shown on the attached map. The areas were recontoured and six inches of growth medium was applied prior to seeding. Each area was either broadcast seeded or hydroseeded followed by 1 ton per acre of hydromulch and 1,500 pounds per acre of Sustane organic soil amendment applied with a hydromulcher. These activities followed the reclamation techniques defined in the Cresson Project Reclamation Plan. Weed control techniques were implemented within the Cresson Project area in the summer of 2012 and will continue in 2013. A report of the 2012 weed control activities is included as an attachment to the Cresson Project Annual Report. Per the requirements of C.R.S. 34 -32- 116(3), and C.R.S. 34- 32.5- 116(3)(a): Reclamation accomplished to date: Approximately 376.5 acres Reclamation accomplished during the preceding year: Approximately 31 acres of disturbance associated with the Cresson Project were reclaimed in 2012 as described above.
