Box 9
Limon, CO 80828
719- 775 -2346
April 5, 2013
Division of Reclamation
Mining and Safety
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
Re: Temporary Cessation of M- 1998 -103
TRUSTEES
Jim Andersen
N Del Beattie
Linda Hawthorne
Jack Hendricks
Mike Kelly
Trevor Williams
-rcO/
RECEIVED
APR 0 9 2013
DIVISION OF RECLAMATION
MINING AND SAFETY --
This is a request to have a temporary cessation status be given to our pit. I would request that the
cessation period begin April 10, 2013, which is concurrent with our annual permit renewal date. Recent
utilization has declined due to the opening of a new pit across the road and consequently what we have
stockpiled in town will likely meet our demands for the next couple of years.
Should the need arise to begin mining operations in the pit the original haul road will be utilized to
access the gravel material remaining on the east end of the permitted area. The overburden will be
removed and stockpiled for use during the reclamation of any newly disturbed area once the gravel has
been removed.
The whole pit area has been graded and reseeded according to technical advice from your department.
Therefore, there is no concern of erosion. We plan to mow the area to provide a better environment for
native grass to spread. We will continue observing the area for undesirable weed infestation and will
promptly eradicate any noxious weeds that may appear.
Since the Town of Limon is a governmental entity there is no financial warranty required. The annual
report and fee was submitted last week and I have enclosed the $144 fee required for this revision.
Sincerely,
Dave Stone, Manager
Town of Limon
