EXHIBIT E — Reclamation Plan
The primary reclamation plan for the pit is to seed the area and enhance wildlife habitat in the
area. The area coming off the creek banks will be back sloped from the bottom of the pit area to
the original ground elevation at a slope no steeper than 3:1.
The stockpiled topsoil will be spread evenly over the prepared area. All topsoil will be replaced
before seeding of the pit occurs. We estimate that approximately 6" of topsoil will be replaced
during reclamation. All of the stockpiled topsoil will be returned, but the depth could vary
depending on what was stockpiled in that particular area.
That topsoil will be stockpiled and returned during the reclamation process. Those areas will be
re- seeded, as recommended by the attached Phillips County NRCS seeding recommendation,
when completed. The seeded area will enhance wildlife in the area. They recommend a cover
crop of sterile sorghum or sudan the summer prior to planting the grass. This should be done
between Nov. 1 and April 30.
Seeding rates per acres of pure live seed suggested are 5.5 pounds of Big Bluestem, 2.0 pounds
of Switchgrass, 5.0 pound of Yellow Indian Grass, 4.5 pounds of Sideoats Grama, 3.5 pounds of
Little Bluestem, and 4.0 pounds of Alfalfa. The seeding will utilize NRCS standard practice 590
and 595 regarding fertilizer and weed control. We plan to utilize a no -till drill to seed the grass.
If seed were broadcast, the rates would be doubled. The site will be inspected for noxious weeds
on a regular basis. The two driveways will remain for use by the landowner.
a) Slopes no greater than 3:1 will be left in the completed pit.
b) Sloping will occur as material is mined
c) Any internal haul roads will be reclaimed as the pit is closed. The access driveways
will be left intact once the mining is complete.
d) There are no other reclamation treatments to note for this site.
