Mr. Peter Hays, DRMS
April 1, 2013
intersects Drop Tower 5 on the uphill side. The investigation of Drop Tower 4 indicated
that the curtain inside Drop Tower 4 had dropped further down into the tower. The curtain
helps to contain the flow when properly in place.
Henderson has reset and grouted the line leading to Drop Tower 5 to stop the leak and
prevent further releases. The curtain on Drop Tower 4 will be put back in place. The
Engineers will be doing further investigation to determine if there is a more effective
solution to protect the towers from overtopping. Henderson will also be reviewing the TDL
inspection program and looking for areas to make improvements.
If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at 303 - 569 -3221, ext.
2235 or Bryce Romig at ext. 1204.
Sincerely,
Amber Moran
Environmental Engineer
Climax Molybdenum Company
Henderson Mill
CC (via email):
B.
