Hickenlooper
Governor
RE: Trapper Mine; Permit No. C- 1981 -010
Technical Revision TR -111; 2012 Annual Reclamation Report Adequacy Review No. 1
Dear Mr. Roberts,
Mike King
Executive Director
Loretta Pineda
Director
The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (Division) received TR -111 on March 14, 2013 and
the application was deemed complete for review on March 25, 2013. There are several items that will need to be
addressed prior to the Divisions approval of the technical revision. Please address the items below:
DRMS Annual Reclamation Report form:
1.) According to the DRMS Annual Reclamation Report form, the acreage disturbed for this reporting year
was denoted as 1.2 acres. Section 1.2.1 of the report indicates 26.8 acres were disturbed in 2012 and of
this area 11.5 acres were re- disturbed. Given this, a total of 15.3 acres of new disturbance should have
been reported instead of 1.2 acres on form. This would yield a cumulative total acres disturbed through
2012 to be 3,150.3 acres. Please revise this form and submit a corrected copy to the Division.
Section 1.0; Annual Reclamation Report:
2.) The total acreage that has been re- disturbed is reported on Table 1.2 of this section. The total acreage re-
disturbed that had received Phase I bond release was reported at 24.8 acres, based on the Division's
calculations this should be 35.2 acres which includes the re- disturbance that occurred in 2012. The total
acreage re- disturbed that had received Phase II bond release was reported at 17.5 acres, based on the
Division's calculations this should be 22.1 acres which includes the re- disturbance that occurred in 2012.
Please revise this table accordingly and submit a new page to the Division.
This concludes the Divisions adequacy review for this revision. The decision date for this revision is May 24, 2013.
If you need additional time to address the Division's concerns please request an extension of the decision date. If
you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Jared Ebert
Environmental Protection Specialist
DRMS
Office of Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Denver • Grand Junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
