Hickenlooper
Governor
Mike King
Executive Director
Loretta E. Pineda
Director
The Division has completed our review of Bowie Resources, LLC (BRL)'s March 18, 2013 response to our
adequacy issues with the above mentioned revision application. The revision proposes the inclusion of
two lease modification areas northwest of the currently approved mining area, and provides a revised
mine plan. We have one comment on the submittal.
10. During the review of BRL's application for Permit Renewal No. 3 (RN3), the Division identified
adequacy concerns with the ownership and control information in the currently approved permit
application (February 1, 2013 letter from Brock Bowles). The Division requested updated
information for both the PR -13 and RN -3 applications.
BRL provided updated ownership and control information, which the Division used to update the
AVS. The Division queried the AVS to determine whether there are any outstanding violations that
would preclude issuance of PR -13 and RN -3. The AVS reported that there is an outstanding
violation related to AML fees at the Bowie No. 2 Mine. BRL will need to resolve this issue before
the permit revision or permit renewal applications can be approved. Please advise the Division
when BRL has resolved the outstanding AML fees violation.
If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact me.
Sincerely,
Susan L.
