Pineda <br />Director <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, <br />Section 116, Paragraph 4, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on March 26, 2013 an application to revise coal <br />alining operations at the Bowie No. 2 Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. The revision was <br />submitted by Bowie Resources, LLC. All review and coumment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations <br />initiate from this date of filing. <br />Bowie Resources, LLC has proposed the use of select overburden materials as a topsoil substitute on Gob Piles #2 and <br />#4 where available topsoil for reclamation is limited. The revision includes an analysis of the suitability of those <br />overburden materials as a topsoil substitute. <br />The Underground coal alining operation is on land located approximately 5 miles Northeast of Paonia, Colorado. The <br />permit area is further described as follows: <br />Portions of Sections 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, 11, 14, 15, 16, and 22, Township 13 South, Range 91 West of the 6th P.M. <br />Portions of Sections 33 and 34, Township 12 South, Range 91 West of the 6th P.M. <br />The above - mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Bowie. <br />The applicant is required to publish notice in a local newspaper that this application has been deemed complete. At the <br />time of publication of this notice, the applicant is additionally required to place a copy of this application at the Paonia <br />Public Library, 2 Third Street, Paonia, CO 81428, and at the Division office. For additional information or to provide <br />written coumments, contact the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, Room 215, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, <br />Colorado 80203, (303) 866 -3567. In order for us to comply with regulatory time frames, we request that coumments be <br />submitted within fifteen (15) days of this letter.
