Colowyo Coal Company <br />2012 Annual Reclamation and Hydrology Report <br />• Upper West Fork Good Spring Creek (UWFGSC) — upstream site, located <br />southwest of the mine along Moffat County Road 13 and represented on the <br />Surface & Ground Water Sampling Sites Map located in Exhibit 2C. Monitoring <br />has occurred from the 4 quarter of 2007 to 2012. <br />Ground Water Data - Ground water monitoring sites comprise two up dip and four down <br />dip shallow alluvial wells and are briefly described below (See Exhibit 2C for location): <br />• A -6 Well (A -6) — located south of the mine along Moffat County State Highway <br />13 and represented on the Surface & Ground Water Sampling Sites Map located <br />in Exhibit 2C. Monitoring has occurred from 1984 to 2012. <br />• A -7 Well (A -7) — located south of the mine along Moffat County State Highway <br />13 and represented on the Surface & Ground Water Sampling Sites Map located <br />in Exhibit 2C. Monitoring started in the second quarter of 2008 and has <br />continued through 2012. <br />• A -8 Well (A -8) — located south of the mine, west of Moffat County State <br />Highway 13 and represented on the Surface & Ground Water Sampling Sites Map <br />located in Exhibit 2C. Monitoring started in the second quarter of 2008 and has <br />continued through 2012. <br />• North Good Springs Well (NGSW) — located along Moffat County State Highway <br />13 and represented on the Surface & Ground Water Sampling Sites Map located <br />in Exhibit 2C. Monitoring has occurred from 1989 to 2012. <br />• Gossard Well — located within the rail loop facility. Access to this well is through <br />Colowyo and represented on the Surface & Ground Water Sampling Sites Map <br />located in Exhibit 2C. Monitoring has occurred from 1983 to 2012. <br />• MT -95 -02 Well — located just south of the rail loop facility and represented on the <br />Surface & Ground Water Sampling Sites Map located in Exhibit 2C. Monitoring <br />started in the first quarter of 2008 and has continued through 2012. <br />GENERAL TRENDS <br />Colowyo currently samples each surface water site for a variety of quality parameters. Of <br />all the parameters that are analyzed for, several key indicator parameters are identified. <br />These are lab pH, lab conductivity, TDS, sulfate, calcium, iron, magnesium, sodium and <br />flow rate. Statistical analysis is completed and illustrates historical trends for each <br />parameter. See graphs for the trend lines in Exhibit 2A. <br />Page 2 -2 <br />
