COMMENTS
This was a partial inspection of the Keenesburg Mine conducted by Brock Bowles and Carla Demasters of the
Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety. Ben Moline of Coors Energy Company was present for
the inspection.Weather conditions were overcast and there was a light rain before the inspection. The roads were
damp and stable.

Ash was stacked in B-Pit ready for backfilling. The current lift in B-Pit is being backfilled from west to
east(photo 1).
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE -Rule 4.05❑ Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5,

Sediment Pond 2 and the dugout pond were dry(photo 2). The spill way on sediment pond 2 was clean
and free of debris. Rocks were stacked in the West Perimeter Ditch blocking the water flow to sediment pond 2
(photo 3). These need to be rearranged so water can flow to the sediment pond.

The main haul road to the B-Pit was well maintained and appeared to be stable.
SIGNS AND MARKERS—Rule 4.02:
The mine identification sign was in place at the main entrance gate and had all the required information.
