Please revise Figure 18 of Exhibit El() provide for concurrent initiation of mine pool
pumping and rn -situ treatment.
Cotter gill provide the update to Figure 18 in the next round of comment response or upon
issuance of an Underground Injection Control ("l IC " ") permit by the [nvironmental
Protection Agency ( "EPA') and other applicable regulatory approvals. Cotter is committed
to pumping the mine pool as soon as practicable and \\ ill only begin in -situ treatment in
conjunction with or after the physical pumping of mine pool water commences.
26. Please identify the criteria that mnst he met before ceasing the mine pool pumping that
maintains the mine pool elevation at an elevation at least 150 feet below the Steve Level.
Cotter's proposal is to cease mine pool pumping when, with a 95% confidence interval, the
concentration of dissolved natural uranium in the mine pool is less than 3 mg/I..
Specifically, during bio- remediation. the mine pool will he sampled at several depths to
determine if the mine pool uranium concentrations are uniformly distributed. If the samples
taken are v ithin the statistical hounded interval w ith an upper endpoint of:
[' pp( r f m (lli /r . l I . ` .)( i
u
