The Cash Well (CW) will be eliminated as a sampling point from the Cash Mine's
water monitoring program. Mine water samples will be collected in the future from
a point inside the Third Level Adit that is several feet from the end of the large
culvert that extends from the portal to the Third Level Cross -Cut drift. This will
eliminate any possible contamination of the mine water samples by the metal
culvert. Gold Hill Mines will file an application for a well permit with the Office of
the State Engineer before the Cash Well is used for any purpose.
2. The sample location for Cash Gulch (CG) and the Unnamed Gulch (UG) will be
combined in the future with a sample taken in Cash Gulch that is located just
above the culvert that conveys water runoff from this area under the County Road.
This is a much better location for monitoring the effects of any mining operations
in this area, because it is actually located below all of the land surfaces disturbed
by historic and present mining operations. Because this is an intermittent stream
and the proposed sampling location is dry most of the year, Gold Hill Mines will
only sample this location when the stream is actually flowing.
3. Gold Hill Mines will continue to sample the up- gradient well that has been referred
