In addition, the up- gradient well is
referred to as MW -5 and the down - gradient well is referred to as MW -6. The up- gradient
well has historically been referred to as the MW -1 and the down- gradient well has
historically been referred to as MW -5. Please refer to the attached map to ensure that water
samples are being collected from the correct location and please use the historic well ID's in
future correspondence to avoid confusion with past water monitoring data.
3. The Operator has proposed eliminating a number of parameters which are currently being
sampled. Under Technical Revision No. 5, the Colorado Agricultural Water Standards were
adopted as provisional baseline standards for all sampling points associated with the Cash
and Who Do Mines; the current baseline standards were established after five quarters of
sampling. The Division has reviewed the past water quality monitoring data and ore
characterization data for the Cash and Who Do Mines and determined the following
parameters no longer need to be sampled: Beryllium, Boron, Nitrate, Nitrite and Sulfate. The
Division has found that the past water quality monitoring data is inconsistent in terms of
parameters sampled and there are many quarters of data which were never submitted.
Without additional justification from the Operator, the Division will require that the
following parameters (in addition to pH, temp., conductivity, and TDS) continue to be
sampled:
