Pineda <br />1060 East Second Ave. <br />Director <br />Durango, CO 81301 <br />Re: Proposed Decision <br />Permit Renewal Application No. 6 (RN -6) <br />King Coal Mine (Permit No. C- 1981 -035) <br />Dear County Commissioners: <br />This letter is to inform you that the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety is <br />proposing to Approve a renewal application for a coal mining and reclamation permit. The <br />application was submitted by GCC Energy, LLC on February 14, 2012, for the King Coal Mine. <br />Any person with an interest which may be adversely affected by the proposed decision may request <br />a formal hearing before the Mined Land Reclamation Board within 30 days of the first publication <br />of this notice by the Division in The Durango Herald. <br />The Underground mine is located approximately 6 miles Southwest of Hesperus, Colorado. The <br />permit area is further described as follows: <br />Portions of Sections 5, 6, 7 and 8, Township 34 North, Range 11 West; portions of Sections 28, 29, <br />31 and 32, Township 35 North, Range 11 West; and portions of Sections 35 and 36, Township 35 <br />North, Range 12 West; New Mexico Principal Meridian. <br />Copies of the renewal application are available for public review in the Division offices at the <br />above address and at the La Plata County Clerk and Recorder.
