whether additional measures need to be implemented to enhance revegetation community
development. The table below allows the comparison of the parameter values with the
standard to be achieved, either from the predictive equations in the case of vegetation
cover (v= 0.0173x 0.8592.x 47.015) and herbaceous production
0,=0.3749x2.2485. , or the established standard for species composition.
Total Vegetation Cover (2012)
Predictive Equation Value for 2012: 32.47 % total vegetation cover
Based on the results of the 2012 quantitative sampling, Reclamation Areas 23 and 29 met
the total cover vegetation final success criterion of 32.47 percent for total vegetation
cover, by exceeding 90 percent of the total vegetation cover standard. A Student's t
parametric statistical test was undertaken for Reclamation Areas 30 and 31. The test
revealed that Reclamation Area 30 total vegetation cover was equal to the revegetation
success criterion, thereby meeting the final cover requirement. The statistical test for
Reclamation Area 31 revealed that the total vegetation cover in that area did not meet the
requirements of the final revegetation success criterion for total vegetation cover.
Total Herbaceous Production (2012)
Predictive Equation Value for 2012: 84.7 g /m total herbaceous production
Total herbaceous production in Reclamation Areas 23, 29, and 30 this growing season
exceeded the predicted final revegetation success criterion value for total herbaceous
production (84.7 g /m As the sampled total herbaceous production values were greater
than the final success criterion, the Reclamation Areas all met the current final
revegetation success criterion for total herbaceous production.
