Compliance With Mine Plan <br />NA - Other <br />R - Processing Waste <br />N -Roads <br />N - Reclamation Success <br />N - Revegetation <br />N - Subsidence <br />N - Slides and Other Damage <br />N - Support Facilities On -site <br />N -Signs and Markers <br />NA - Support Facilities Not On -site <br />NA - Special Categories Of Mining <br />N -Topsoil <br />COMMENTS <br />This was a partial, aerial inspection of the Bowie No. 2 Mine based on aerial photographs of the site taken by <br />Harry Ranney of CDRMS on January 4, 2013 and reviewed by Susan Burgmaier of CDRMS on January 8, 2013. <br />The site is actively mining coal from the B seam and is currently seeking approval for a permit revision to expand <br />the permit boundary and mining area. <br />The site was snow covered; activities were observed at the refuse disposal and facilities areas. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 ❑ Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, <br />4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water <br />Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Drainage — Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; <br />Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br />Ponds B, C, D, and F all held water and were covered by ice and snow. It was not apparent whether any <br />were being discharged. <br />GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLANCE: <br />It appeared that the operator has implemented the disturbance proposed with Technical Revision No. 76 <br />prior to approval by the Division. Earthmoving activities were observed between Gob Pile #2 and Gob Pile #4, in <br />an area not currently approved for disturbance. The Division will, as required by Rule 5.02.2(3)(b), investigate <br />this matter on -site. <br />PROCESSING WASTE /COAL MINE WASTE PILES — Rule 4.10 and 4.11 ❑ Drainage Control; Surface <br />Stabilization; Placement: <br />Gob was being placed on Gob Pile #2, on the west end of the third bench (between ditches F2 and F12) <br />and at the northern tip /upper bench. It appeared that water was impounded on the third bench, below recently <br />placed gob. Care must be taken in placing gob to ensure that drainage off of the pile is maintained. <br />The diversion ditch configuration approved under Minor Revision No. 132 had been implemented.
