Susan Burgmaier - 4 - February 15, 2013
BRL - Page 2.05 -125i was updated. TC -03 -03 was lined out. Drill holes CWI -DH-
58, CWI- DH -60, 2010 -1 SS and 2010 -1 B were added to the table. Monitoring wells
MW -01, MW -02 and MW -03 were removed from the table. These monitoring wells
are located at the Bowie No. 1 mine loadout and they are monitored by the Bowie
No. 1 mine.
8. DRMS - Please update page 2.05 -117 of the Hydrologic Monitoring Plan where drill
holes are discussed. It appears that there are now sixteen drill holes monitored and
the text needs to include the separate descriptions for the two wells at the 2010 -1
location.
BRL - Monitoring wells 2010 -1 SS and 2010-1B were added to the first paragraph on
page 2.05 -117.
9. DRMS - A discussion regarding PR -13 and the plan for continued groundwater
monitoring as BRL progresses mining to the north in the western mining district
should be added to the permit document. Following the last paragraph on page 2.04 -
32i seems an appropriate place in the permit for adding this discussion. The
following should be described and included.
a. Describe the current layout for up gradient and down gradient monitoring wells
for the western mining district and the new area to the north proposed with PR-
13.
BRL - See discussion on page 2.04 -32ii.
b. According to the Mine Plan in 2015 the down gradient monitoring location 2010 -1
(two wells) will be mined through. What is BRLs plan for continued down gradient
monitoring once the two down gradient wells are lost?
BRL - See item D below.
c. Do the same conditions exist in the northern part of the western mining district
with regard to the hydraulic isolation of the Rollins Sandstone as described in the
PHC pages 2.05- 115 -116 and verified on Geologic Cross - Sections during the
PR -12 review? If appropriate add this discussion to the text and update
appropriate maps as needed.
BRL - Discussion was added to the bottom of page 2.05 -115 regarding the hydraulic
isolation of the Rollins sandstone in the northern portion of the western mining
district.
d. Do the same conditions exist to the north of the western mining district with
regard to the economical or technical practicality of drilling very deep wells in
rugged terrain with limited access as previously described for the Bowie No. 2
