Susan Burgmaier
Sincerely,
-2- February 8, 2013
BOW -2: The west half of Gob Pile #4 has been regraded and the slopes exceed or
meet the 2H:1 V standard established by BGI. To bring the east half of the pile up to
grade, mostly fill is required, in some areas over four feet. Due to current weather
conditions, achieving compaction in those areas of fill is very difficult. As discussed with
DRMS on January 31, at this time BRL requests approval for the west half of gob pile
#4, and will seek approval for the upper east half once the weather improves and
compaction can be achieved.
Approval for the west half of gob pile #4 will allow BRL to place coverfill material on that
half of the pile. BRL understands that no cover material can be placed on the east half
of the pile as shown on the attached drawing until it is brought to grade and approved by
DRMS. A line of stakes delineating the break between the east and west half of the pile
will be clearly marked, and the stakes on the east half of the pile will remain in place, to
the extent possible, until final grading can occur.
In addition, the first bench of gob pile #4 did not require any grading work and is
therefore included in this request for approval. Approving the first bench of gob pile #4
will allow BRL to begin implementing the expansion of gob pile #2 as approved by TR-
76.
Page 4 of Volume IX has been revised to reflect the as -built configuration; slopes that
range from 2H:1V to 3H:1 V.
Since the approval of TR -76 occurred before the approval of TR -75, a majority of the
map revisions associated with TR -75 are redundant. Therefore, the only changes to be
incorporated into the TR -75 final approval are Page 4, and the BGI stability analysis
(dated November 20, 2012).
Please fee free to contact me if you have any questions.
asrr i4i
Tamme Bishop, P.E.
Project Engineer
Enclosures:
Volume IX: Gob Pile #1 as -built drawing (for review only), Page 4
