Pineda <br />Director <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, <br />Article 33, Section 118, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on February 8, 2013, <br />an application to renew an existing permit to conduct coal mining operations at the Carbon <br />Junction Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. All review and comment <br />periods as provided in the Colorado Surface Mining Reclamation Act and the Rules initiate from <br />this date of filing. <br />Oakridge Energy, Inc. proposes to continue Surface coal reclamation operations on land located <br />approximately 2 miles Southeast of Durango, Colorado. The permit area is further described as <br />follows: <br />Portions of Section 33, Township 34.5 N, Range 9 West; portions of Section 33, Township 35 <br />North, Range 9 West; and portions of Section 4, Township 34 North, Range 9 West, New Mexico <br />Principal Meridian. <br />The above - mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle maps of Durango <br />East and Loma Linda. <br />The operator of this inactive mine requests renewal of the mining and reclamation permit. No <br />increases in mined area or surface area are proposed. <br />Because the above referenced permit renewal application might otherwise alter previously <br />approved permit conditions or mitigation measures, we are requesting your agency's evaluation of <br />the proposal.
