The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33,
Section 118, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on February 1, 2013, an application to renew an
existing permit to conduct coal mining operations at the Carbon Junction Mine was considered complete for the
purposes of filing. All review and comment periods as provided in the Colorado Surface Mining Reclamation Act and
the Rules initiate from this date of filing.
The applicant, Oakridge Energy, Inc., proposes to continue Surface coal mining operations on land located
approximately 2 miles Southeast of Durango, Colorado. The permit area is further described as follows:
Portions of Section 33, Township 34.5 North, Range 9 West; portions of Section 33, Township 35 North, Range 9
West; and portions of Section 4, Township 34 North, Range 9 West, New Mexico Principal Meridian.
The above - mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle maps of Durango East and Loma
Linda.
The operator of this inactive mine requests renewal of the mining and reclamation permit. No increases to mined area
or surface area are proposed.
A copy of the renewal application is available for public inspection at the La Plata County Clerk and Recorder, 98
Everett St., Suite C, Durango, CO 81303, and at the Division office. For additional information, to provide written
