Pineda <br />Director <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, <br />Section 118, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on February 1, 2013, an application to renew an <br />existing permit to conduct coal mining operations at the Carbon Junction Mine was considered complete for the <br />purposes of filing. All review and comment periods as provided in the Colorado Surface Mining Reclamation Act and <br />the Rules initiate from this date of filing. <br />The applicant, Oakridge Energy, Inc., proposes to continue Surface coal mining operations on land located <br />approximately 2 miles Southeast of Durango, Colorado. The permit area is further described as follows: <br />Portions of Section 33, Township 34.5 North, Range 9 West; portions of Section 33, Township 35 North, Range 9 <br />West; and portions of Section 4, Township 34 North, Range 9 West, New Mexico Principal Meridian. <br />The above - mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle maps of Durango East and Loma <br />Linda. <br />The operator of this inactive mine requests renewal of the mining and reclamation permit. No increases to mined area <br />or surface area are proposed. <br />A copy of the renewal application is available for public inspection at the La Plata County Clerk and Recorder, 98 <br />Everett St., Suite C, Durango, CO 81303, and at the Division office. For additional information, to provide written <br />comments, or request an informal conference, contact the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, Room 215, <br />1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203, (303) 866 -3567, within thirty (30) days after the last public notice in <br />the The Durango Herald. <br />Sincerely, <br />Marcia L.
