This is in regards to the Morgan
property_ I am requesting an informal hearing in Nucla, Colorado. This request is for the Permit
renewal that Wester Fuels is requesting and for the Permit Revision ntunber 7. l live at Paradox,
but I know the property well. My late husband used to go over there years ago and help JoEllen
farm the place that is known as the Sunshine place. He helped plant corn, hay, wheat, and oats.
He did many hours of disking and land leveling. I am objecting to everything they are trying to do
here. The Morgan fannn was well irrigated and well farmed. My husband would tell me how nice
it was to work the ground and how nice the ground was. This was all rock free and planted easy
and was easy to work up. T would ride on the tractor sometimes and for hours just get it really
level and nice.
My husband would tell me that it was one of the best places he had ever helped farm. He would
go over there and help them harvest and put up hay. He helped build the shop and was there day
after day. They put up tons and tons of alfalfa. 1 am presently buying hay from them even today. I
have watched the piles of dirt for years now and they have not been able to farm. This isn't right. I
watched there mine the places on the other side of the road and those places were put back right
away. This dirt is an eyesore. This dirt has been piled there for more years than I can count, it
seems like forever. These people are not being done right. They have pretty dirt and they have
had a pretty farm. They are getting old and you have not done them right. They should have
been allowed to enjoy their farm.
It doesn't look the same anymore. It was always so pretty and green and it smelled good. Now,
nothing. If the mine can't do better than that, then they shouldn't have a permit and they
definitely should not be allowed to revise and change the property from what it was to something
else. This is my objections and my request for a hearing here if they don't fix it like it used to be.
Thank you,
.1 et.r eet.11 1.2-'c
, ? / 5
Pay- act-0x ec '/ q
— .5 - 1 3 RE ;r ""' D
FEB 0 7 2013
Division of Reclamation,
Mining & Safety
