Oil and Grease Monitoring
For every outfall with oil and grease monitoring, in the eventan oil sheen or floating oil is observed, a grab sample shall
be collected, analyzed, and reported on the appropriate DMR. In addition, corrective action shall be taken immediately
to mitigate the discharge of oil and grease. A description of the corrective action taken should be included with the
DMR.
Self - monitoring sampling by the permittee for compliance with the monitoring requirements specified above shall be
performed at the following locations: Outfalls 005, 006, 008, 009, 010, 011, 012, 013, 014, 015, 016 and 017 at the outfalls of
the sedimentation ponds prior to entering the immediate receiving waters.
If the permittee, using the approved analytical methods, monitors any parameter more frequently than required by this permit,
then the results of such monitoring shall be included in the calculation and reporting of the values required in the Discharge
Monitoring Report Form (DMRs) or other forms as required by the Division. Such increased frequency shall also be
indicated.
For Outfalls 005, 006, 008, 009, 010, 011, 015, 016 and 017, during the winter season, monitoring may be suspended at the
permittee's option when adverse weather conditions prohibit safe access to one or more of these discharge points at the
frequencies specified in this subpart. Monitoring shall recommence at the first opportunity after such inaccessibility ends.
When inaccessibility prevents sample collection, the permittee shall document what monitoring was missed and the specific
conditions that prevented access in cover letters to the appropriate Discharge Monitoring Reports. For Outfall 008, the
permittee is exempted from the chronic WET testing frequency of 3 grabs /test if effluent discharges cease before the end of
the monitoring period (see Part I.A.6.a).
2. Salinity Parameters
In order to obtain an indication of the quantity of Salinity, measured as total dissolved solids (TDS), being discharged from
the site the permittee shall monitor the wastewater effhent at the frequencies given in the tables above.
