E. Impoundments
The only impoundments existing within the permit area in addition to sediment ponds are sewage
lagoons, and three non - discharging sumps. Former Mine -water treatment pond 12 has been
reclaimed. A set of evaporative, non - discharging sewage lagoons has been permitted near the
loadout for treating water from the Roadside Mine and the loadout. These have been reclaimed.
Two small sumps were constructed in the North Decline reclamation area and one sump was
constructed in the Cameo Borrow Area 41 (CBA -1) to serve to capture and treat runoff from
reclaimed lands. These sumps are adequately sized to contain runoff from a 25 -year, 24 -hour
storm event. Both sumps were reclaimed following approval of PR -5.
F.
