<br />Minrec, Inc., 627 24 1/2 Road, Unit H, Grand Junc-
<br />tion, CO 81505 has submitted a complete applica-
<br />tion for renewal of a valid, existing permit to con-
<br />duct coal mining in Colorado to the Division of
<br />Reclamation, Mining and Safety for its North Th-
<br />ompson Creek Mines, mining permit no.
<br />C- 1981 -025
<br />The permit area consists of the lands located in
<br />Sections 27, 28, and 35, T 8 S, R 89 W, 6th P.M.
<br />and Sections 2 and 3 T 9 S, R 89 W, 6th P.M. more
<br />fully described below. The surface of the mine
<br />permit area is owned by the North Thompson -Four
<br />Mile Mineral and Land Corporation (portions of
<br />sections 27, 34 and 35 T 8 S), the Crystal River
<br />Ranch Company (portions of sections 2 and 3 T 9
<br />S, and sections 34 and 35 T 8 S, and the U. S.
<br />Forest Service (portion of section 27 T 8 S).
<br />The mine permit area is located approximately 9.5
<br />miles from the bridge across the Crystal River on
<br />County Road 108, (North Thompson Creek Road).
<br />The permit area can be located on the U.S.G.S. 7.5
<br />minute Stony Ridge, CO quadrangle map. The to-
<br />tal permit area encompasses 1086 acres of which
<br />20 acres are on USDA -FS managed surface
<br />Township 8 South, Range 89 West, 6th P.M.

<br />County Clerk and Recorder's Office, Garfield
<br />County Courthouse, Glenwood Springs, CO and at
<br />the offices of the Division of Reclamation, Mining
<br />and Safety, 1313 Sherman St., Room 215, Denver,
<br />CO, 80203, (303) 866 -3567. Written comments,
<br />objections or a request for an informal conference
<br />on the proposed permit renewal may be submitted
<br />to and additional information obtained from the Di-
<br />vision of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, 1313
