period of five years from the effective date of this technical revision to evaluate long -term <br />ground water quality trends in the valley. <br />The ground water monitoring program for the Arkansas River Valley consists of the following: <br />• Sampling will continue at the AMW monitoring well twice annually, once at high flow <br />and once at low flow conditions (March and September). Monitoring well sampling will <br />follow the SAP presented in Appendix C and the Climax Mine Environmental <br />Management Procedures Training Manual (Cyprus Climax Metals Company, July, <br />1995). <br />• Ground water samples will be analyzed for indicator parameters chloride, sulfate and <br />manganese. These parameters were chosen as they are the primary constituents in the <br />mine process water and serve as indicator parameters for other analytes. <br />• Field parameters, pH, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), ground water level will be <br />recorded during each sampling event. <br />• The ground water sampling results will be reported to the state on a yearly basis with <br />the Annual Reclamation Report. <br />Eagle River Valley <br />Based on the site hydrogeologic conditions, ground water discharge is fully contained within the <br />Eagle River Valley. In addition, the Eagle Park Reservoir is currently being reclaimed. <br />Therefore, a ground water POC will not be established for the valley. To verify lack of ground <br />water discharge from the Climax property, yearly inspections of the toe of No. 4 Dam will be <br />conducted. The results of these inspections will be reported to the state with the annual <br />submittal of ground water information. These inspections will be concurrent with completion of <br />the conversion of Eagle Park Reservoir and demonstration that waters in the reservoir meet <br />water quality standards. <br />
