Mr. Allen Sorenson
Division of Minerals and Geology
February 1, 1996
Page 6
General Comments
The Ground Water Technical Revision, TR-08 submitted on September 29, 1996, mistakenly
contained two items that require your consideration. First, the Sampling and Analysis Plan
contains a reference that laboratory bottles will be provided by the laboratory. Climax requests
that the Division delete this condition because we have historically taken samples in approved
analytical bottles supplied by I-Chem. Climax will use approved sampling containers.
Second, Climax mistakenly high and low ground water flow as occurring in March and
September. For semi-annual sampling, high flow is best measured in May or June and low flow
in October and November. Climax would like to delete reference to March and September
monitoring and replace the sampling schedule with May and October.
CIVIC appreciates your thorough review of this response to your November 6, 1995, letter.
Please contact me with any questions you may have. I look forward to a meeting with the
Division in the near future resolve outstanding concerns and questions.
Since ely,
Bryce R. Romig
Environmental Coordinator
Climax Mine and Mill
