CDRMS identified unreclaimed monitoring well 10B during the course of their inspections this
summer C &J Gravel was contracted by Oakridge Energy, Inc. to reclaim well 10B. The
reclamation work was completed in late summer 2012. Photos of the reclaimed well are
appended to this report.
d). Topsoil replacement was completed for the mine in 2006. Topsoil replacement on the final
regraded areas of the reclaimed sediment control system was completed in December 2008. No
topsoiling occurred in 2012.
e). Revegetation was undertaken for the mine during 2006 with successful establishment of the
perennial seed mix confirmed in 2008. Revegetation of the reclaimed sediment control system
was undertaken in April 2009. No revegetation occurred in 2012.
2012 Weed, Pest and Disease Inspection
During my inspections of the site in 2012 I did not identify any disease conditions at any of the
reclaimed or revegetated areas within the coal mine permit area. I did not identify any plant
pests which had affected the growth of the vegetation during this growing season. No areas
which experienced any infestation or blight were found during the inspections. No patches of
noxious weed species were observed, nor were any areas observed where weeds, plant pests, or
disease showed a deleterious effect to the live vegetation.
Oakridge Energy contracted for spraying of scattered noxious weeds in 2012 at the coal mine
site. The most recent spraying took place during the late summer of 2012. During my inspection
of December 13, 2012 I found approximately six dead musk thistle plants within the coal mine
permit area. These were cut and disposed of
f). Permanent revegetation as described in the mining and reclamation plan has occurred at the
Carbon Junction Mine at all disturbed areas of the mine slated for revegetation.
Additional Information
No CDRMS permitting actions or revisions were undertaken in 2012.
Disturbed Acreage
By the end of calendar year 2010, a total of 45.31 acres (100 %) of disturbance attributable to
coal mining operations during the life of the mine was reclaimed to final configuration or
released from reclamation obligations. Previously, 14.31 acres of mine disturbance was released
(SL -02, Phase I /II /III).
2012 Carbon Junction Mine Annual Reclamation Report Page 2
CDRMS Permit C -92 -080
