Disturbed Areas Existing Conditions Map
Please find the modified map. The four (4) bold outlined areas within Phase I are delineated for
site development and use. The green shaded area represents Phase 1.
Mine Plan
Mining will proceed in sequential Phases 1, 2 and 3 with bond posted for total potential acreage
disturbance within a designated phase. Mining will not occur in "5 -acre cells." Reclamation will
occur concurrently with mining. The mine plan will be consist throughout the permitted area.
Using naturals, slopes will be reconstructed and any excess naturals will be used to backfill
areas not proposed for lined water storage areas. When transitional slopes are necessary
between backfilled areas and areas of undisturbed elevation, slopes will be no steeper than
3H:1 V. The topography of backfilled areas will blend with undisturbed elevations. Slopes with
the water storage area will be constructed to 3H:1 V.
Hydrology
With only 19 acres remaining to be mined within Phase 1, 5.5 aces of exposed water surface
will be sufficient for dewatering and collection needs. When mining moves into Phase 2, the
proposed sedimentation pond is 3 acres.
The operator commits to filing an amendment with DWR in the event the active mining area is
expected to exceed 50 acres.
Reclamation Plan
Final reclamation will be a combination of wetlands, recreational land and water storage. Within
Phase 1, approximately 82 acres will be clay lined water storage, approximately 20 acres will be
wetlands and approximately 26 acres will be backfilled recreational land. Phase 2 will be
reclaimed as wetlands. Phase 3 will be reclaimed as clay lined water storage.
Water storage will commence upon completion of Phase 1.
Please contact me directly with any questions.
Respectfully submitted,
Angela M.
