A letter to our county commissioners <br />We are writing this letter because our county commissioners will not speak <br />to us directly. <br />We would like to think that our commissioners are looking out for our best <br />interest concerning the expansion to the immediate east of the Cripple Creek <br />city limits by the CC &V Mining Company. <br />Do the county commissioners realize that a large open pit and the removal of <br />the aspen trees within sight of the city will destroy the beauty of the hillside, <br />creating an eyesore that would affect property values and the tourism <br />industry, therefore reducing the number of jobs in the Cripple Creek <br />District? <br />To the county commissioners: Please keep these issues in mind when you go <br />to vote on the mine expansion, as this extension will have a trickle down <br />effect on the citizens of Cripple Creek and those in the surrounding areas, <br />and will change our historic district forever. <br />Thank you, <br />Nancy McDonald <br />Lisa McDonald <br />Cripple Creek <br />
