Mined Land Reclamation Board.
Sincerely,
Patricia Etters
My name is Patricia Etters. I live in the City of Victor, Colorado and
am employed by the Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mine (Anglo Gold) in
Victor Colorado. I've been employed at this mine as a security guard
for eight -plus years. My father was employed here for over twenty
years and has since retired. Our employer provides us with excellent
wages and health care.
I understand that an application has been submitted for our mine
expansion project. This expansion will allow us to continue to operate
for many years to come. Without it, we will be forced to close down
operations in the near future. I ask that you please approve this
expansion. If our mine closes down, approximately 300 people would
be without jobs. We are active in many community affairs and causes,
everything from financing additions to the schools in Cripple Creek to
establishing an employee volunteer program to deliver free firewood to
elderly or indigent people of the community. The City of Victor would
suffer as well, since it's main source of revenue is the selling of water
to our mine. If we were to close, thousands of people in the
community would suffer.
Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mine has always been compliant with
State and Federal Regulations. We never compromise safety, health
or the environment. In fact, our mine has won recognition for it's
safety record and reclamation achievements.
I am asking you to approve our expansion project. Please don't shut
down our mine!
'VED
MAY 0 9 2008
Ln tSivf wCinatl011,
Mining and Safety
