Public Notice
The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, of the Colorado
Revised Statutes, hereby issues notice that on November 28, 2012, a minor revision application (MR -390)
to the West Elk Mine, Permit No. C -1980 -007, operated by Mountain Coal Company, LLC, P.O. Box
591, Somerset, CO 81434 was considered complete for the purposes of filing. The Mountain Coal
Company, LLC has submitted a Minor Revision to the West Elk Mine's permit. The revision proposes to
add a small, wooden shed on the north side of their 175,000 gallon potable water tank. The shed will
house a chlorine meter to monitor the residual chlorine level in the water. There will be no change to the
mine's permit or disturbance boundary as a result of this revision. There will, however, be an increase in
the mine's reclamation liability. All reviews and comment periods as provided in the Act and
Regulations promulgated thereunder initiate from this date of filing.
Posted November 28, 2012
C -MR -03
XII
I - r\ -16

2--B-12-
