Page 3 of 3 <br />impede the Division's ability to evaluate the quantity of groundwater recharge in the mine. <br />Failure to remove the obstruction found at 353 feet below the top of the MW -NW well casing <br />would cast doubt on the results of a water quality data collected at this point. <br />Please provide an explanation and supporting information demonstrating that failure to clear the <br />obstruction in MW -NW and raising the monitoring elevation in MW -NW complies with Rules <br />Rule 4.05.13(l)(a), 4.05.13(l)(e), Rule 4.05.13(l)(e)(i), and will provide uncompromised data to <br />allow the Division to evaluate impacts on the ground water due to mining activities. This <br />includes the water that has flooded the mine. Please provide supporting information that the <br />integrity of the well has not been compromised by the obstruction, that the obstruction would not <br />affect the water quality of any samples collected, the accuracy of all the monitoring data <br />collected is maintained, and that the isolation of the aquifer of interest is maintained. <br />In accordance with Rule 2.07.3(1), you have the opportunity to amend, review, or otherwise make <br />your application complete. <br />If you have any questions, please contact me. <br />Sincerely, <br />Janet H.
