The report contains General Facility Information, Land Application Site Information,
Cumulative Loading, and the Biosolids Application Summary. Also attached is the required
certification statement. All other pages in the annual report are marked "See Producers Reports'
to prevent redundancy of information Included with reports submitted by co-permittees.
For items (A) and (8) on the Report Contents page, please see the producers reports. Item (C),
soil analyses, is included for the first time as the first growing season was completed on-the areas
that received 1997 land applications of biosolids. Item (D), additional monitoring, is not included
as no addition monitoring is required by the NOA.
In 1998, a total of 182.24 tons of biosolids were applied to 6.1 acres on the Robinson Tailing Land
Application Area. This volume included 113.59 tons of staged 1997 biosolids and 68.63 tons of
1998 biosolids. Loading and pollutant concentrations are calculated using weighted averages
between the producer analyses and the year the biosolids were produced. The biosolids were
applied in August and September. Climax staged 274.53 tons of sludge as described below and
received another 218.98 tons that will be prepared for spreading early the spring of 1999 Total
tonnage received from the Summit County Biosolids Producers in 1998 was 562.15 tons.
Biosolids received by the Climax Mine are staged through the winter for early spring preparation.
In the spring (late May), the biosolids prepared by mixing the sludge at a ratio of approximately
1:1 with wood chips and then spread by truck and grader at the Robinson Tailing Site in late
summer. The biosolids and wood chips provide an organic base over the rock capped tailing
pond and assist in reclamation of the site. _
}
Please call if you have any questions.
