Geotextile Deployment <br />Section 02777 <br />Geotextile <br />2. Rolls shall be free of holes, contamination, and foreign matter. <br />ame0 <br />3. The geotextile supplied for the project shall meet or exceed the minimum (unless noted <br />otherwise) roll values shown in the table below: <br />CONTRACTOR shall handle geotextile in a manner to ensure that geotextile is not damaged, and <br />shall comply with the following: <br />1. No equipment or tools shall damage the geotextile by handling, trafficking, or other means. <br />2. No personnel working on the geotextile shall smoke, wear damaging shoes, or engage in <br />other activities that could damage the geotextile. <br />3. Cross seams between two (2) panels of geotextile shall be staggered by a minimum distance <br />of five (5) feet on slopes greater than ten percent (10 %). <br />4. In the presence of wind, all geotextiles shall be weighted with sandbags or the equivalent. <br />Such sandbags shall be installed during deployment and shall remain until replaced with <br />cover material. <br />5. Geotextile panels shall be deployed in such a manner as to preclude wrinkles and folds. Any <br />wrinkle or fold that may manifest itself into other geosynthetic layers shall be removed. <br />6. Geotextile within the lined area shall be cut with a cutter approved by CERTIFYING <br />ENGINEER, such as scissors. Unshielded razor knifes are not acceptable. <br />7. Take necessary precautions to prevent damage to the underlying subgrade during placement <br />of the geotextile. <br />8. During placement of geotextiles, care shall be taken not to entrap, in or beneath the <br />geotextile, stones, excessive dust, or moisture that could damage the underlying or overlying <br />geomembrane, cause clogging of drains or filters, or hamper subsequent seaming. <br />9. Following the installation of all geotextile, an examination of the entire surface shall be <br />conducted to detect potentially harmful foreign objects.
