EXHIBIT A Legal Description 1 (1) The legal description must identify the affected land, specify affected areas and be adequate to field locate the property. Description shall be by (a), township, range, and section, to at least the nearest quarter - quarter section and (b), location of the main entrance to the site reported as latitude and longitude, or the Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) Grid as determined from a USGS topographic map. A meters and bounds survey description is acceptable in lieu of township, range, and section. Where available, the street address or lot number(s) shall be given. This information may be available from the County Assessor's office or U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) maps. Beginning at a point on the North line of the SE quarter of Section 31, Township 18 South, Range 70 West of the 6th Principal Meridian in Fremont County, Colorado, from whence the Center 1/4 of said Section 31, bears S 88 °31'09" W, 615.72 feet; thence N 01 °28'51" W 444.90 feet; thence N 88 °31'09" E 705.03 feet; thence N 00 °10'28" W 3545.48 feet; thence S 88 °55'06" W 1988.22 feet thence S 00 °10'32" E 3992.5 feet; thence S 88 °29'28" W 660.00 feet; thence S 00 °00'00" W 1340.82 feet; thence N 87 °39'24" E 1342.24 feet; thence N 90 °00'00" E 611.78 feet; thence N 00 °00'00" E 1324.89 feet to the point of beginning. Containing 235 acres more or less A parcel of land situated in Sections 30 and 31 in Township 18 South Range 70 West of the Sixth Principal Meridian in the County of Fremont, State of Colorado, more particularly described as follows: Beginning at the center -west 1/16 of section 31, being a 2'A" diameter aluminum post with Bureau of Land Management (BLM) aluminum cap in a mound of stone, thence Easterly along the east -west center line of section 31, to the center - east -west 1/64 of sec. 31, being a 2'/2" diameter aluminum post with Bureau of Land Management (BLM) aluminum cap in a mound of stone, thence Northerly along the east boundary of the W1 /2SE1 /4NW1/4 and the W1 /2NE1 /4NW1 /4 of section 31, 2671 ft., to the east -west 1/64 of secs. 30 and 31, being a 2 'A" diameter aluminum post with Bureau of Land Management (BLM) aluminum cap in a mound of stone, thence Northerly along the east boundary of the W 1 /2SE1 /4SW 1/4 of section 30, 757.63 ft., thence S 89° 06' 35" W 1048.62 ft., thence S 00° 00' 04" E, 2449.70 ft., thence S 25 53' 49" E 654.48 ft., thence S 19° 51' 05" E 416.28 ft. to the point of beginning. The above described parcel contains 79 acres in total, more or less. References to monuments refer to the BLM official dependent resurvey approved May 8, 1984. Total acreage = 314 +- (2) The main entrance to the mine site shall be located based on a USGS topographic map showing latitude and longitude or Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM). The operator will need to specify coordinates of latitude and longitude in degrees, minutes and seconds or in decimal degrees to an accuracy of at least five (5) decimal places (e.g., latitude 37.12345 N, longitude 104.45678 W). For UTM, the operator will need to specify North American Datum (NAD) 1927, NAP 1983, or WGS 84, and the applicable zone, measured in meters. Please refer to Exhibit B Index Map.
