6.1 Conformance Testing
Geomembrane manufactured by Poly -Flex was installed in the Process Solution
Enhancement System. A TRI /Environmental (TRI) (AMEC subcontractor) representative
performed geomembrane conformance sampling at the Poly -Flex plant in Grand Prairie,
Texas. Samples were sent to TRI's geosynthetic laboratory in Austin, Texas, for
conformance testing. Geomembrane rolls were not used on the project unless approved by
AMEC based on passing conformance test results.
Prior to the 80 -mil geomembrane arrival to site, AMEC performed two (2) conformance tests
at a frequency of one test per 81,938 square feet, exceeding the minimum specified testing
frequency of one test per 150,000 square feet. Testing frequency was based on AMEC's
inventory of the 80 -mil geomembrane received in 2010 and 2011. Conformance testing for
the 80 -mil single -sided textured LLDPE geomembrane used to construct the Process
Solution Enhancement System liner system met specifications. Conformance test results
are presented in Appendix K.
6.2 Deployment Monitoring
Geomembrane panel deployment monitoring performed by AMEC included:
ame0
• Observation of panel surface condition and panel overlap;
• Assignment of panel numbers;
• Verification of factory roll number and receipt of complete certification
prior to allowing deployment;
• Measurement of sheet thickness;
• Documentation of deployed panel lengths; and
• Development of the panel layout record drawing.
Prior to the deployment of geomembrane, AMEC and Lone Star verified that the subgrade
was free of soft spots, protrusions, angular particles, abrupt grade changes, and loose soil.
AMEC Environment & Infrastructure, Inc.
2000 S.
