To date, no
waste rock has been put on the surface and no field weathering barrel tests have been set up.
Once a thorough evaluation of the 2012 exploration data is complete, a determination regarding
future waste rock placement will be forwarded to the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining,
and Safety (DRMS).
Leachate Results from the Field Weathering Barrel Tests
To date, no waste rock has been brought to surface to utilize for field weathering barrel tests.
Synthetic Precipitation Leaching Procedure (SPLP) and Acid -Base Accounting (ABA)
Results
The initial SPLP and ABA results from the four underground samples were attached to the RGS
letter to DRMS dated September 24, 2012. Subsequently, these four underground samples were
analyzed for SPLP only (results attached as Figure 1). In September 2012, two additional
underground samples were collected for ABA testing only (results attached as Figure 2). Finally,
in September 2012, six samples were collected from the surface in the area immediately adjacent
to the portal (four samples from previous Homestake waste rock piles, and two samples of talus).
These results are attached as Figure 3.
Currently, our geochemical consultant is reviewing the SPLP and ABA results and a narrative
regarding the interpretation of the results will be provided in RGS's Ql 2013 update.
112 East 12` Street P O Box 610 Creede, CO 81130
719 -658 -1080 Fax 719 -658 -1082
DEC 2 t 2012
DURANGO FIELD OFFICE
DIVISION OF RECLAMATION,
MINING AND SAFETY
W A' T 1Z a IT `1 Z 7 t Z Q 11+ i fZ
