On page 3 of the technical revision submittal in the Mining Plan section, the Operator
states the lake will have a surface area of approximately 29 acres. The Reclamation
Plan map included in the technical revision indicates a reduced lake size with the
removal of the southeast corner of area being backfilled and deeded to the City of
Greeley. Please revise the anticipated lake area to account for the reclamation plan
change.
Answer: The reference to the lake area on page 3 has been modified to reflect the reduced
area of approximately 19 acres.
2. As required by Rule 3.1.5(2), when backfilling is a part of the plan, the Operator shall
replace overburden and waste materials in the mined area and shall ensure adequate
compaction for stability and to prevent leaching of toxic or acid - forming materials.
Please revise the updated reclamation plan to address the requirements of this rule by
describing the backfilling operation for the slopes.
Answer: This section of the reclamation plan has been revised to describe testing that will be
performed for backfill operations on the slopes.
3. Rule 6.2.1(2) requires maps be signed by a registered land surveyor, professional
engineer, or other qualified person. The Exhibit F map submitted to the Division was
not signed. Please resubmit a signed copy of the map.
Answer: The resubmitted map has been signed.
RECEIVED
DEc 2R 2012
DIVISION OF RECLAMATION
MINING AND SAFETY
1490 W. 12 tt Avenue, Suite 100 118 W. 6 Street, Suite 100
Denver, CO 80234 Glenwood Springs, CO 81601
303 - 452 -6611
www.applegategroup.com
