PUBLIC NOTICE <br />Minrec, Inc., 627 24 1/2 Road, Unit H, Grand Junction, CO 81505 has submitted a <br />complete application for a technical revision to the Division of Reclamation, Mining and <br />Safety for its North Thompson Creek Mines, mining permit no. C- 1981 -025. This technical <br />revision application clarifies the way pond 9 can be used for the water treatment system. <br />The permit area consists of the lands located in Sections 27, 28, and 35, T 8 S, R 89 W, <br />6th P.M. and Sections 2 and 3 T 9 S, R 89 W, 6th P.M. more fully described below. The <br />surface of the mine permit area is owned by the North Thompson -Four Mile Mineral and <br />Land Corporation (portions of sections 27, 34 and 35 T 8 S), the Crystal River Ranch <br />Company (portions of sections 2 and 3 T 9 S, and sections 34 and 35 T 8 S, and the U. S. <br />Forest Service (portion of section 27 T 8 S). <br />The mine permit area is located approximately 9.5 miles from the bridge across the Crystal <br />River on County Road 108, (North Thompson Creek Road). The permit area can be <br />located on the U.S.G.S. 7.5 minute Stony Ridge, CO quadrangle map. The total permit <br />area encompasses 1086 acres of which 20 acres are on USDA -FS managed surface. <br />Township 8 South, Range 89 West, 6th P.M. <br />Section 27: S /2SE /4SW /4, W /2SE /4, W /2E /2SE /4 <br />Section 34: SE /4, E /2NW /4, S /2NE /4, NW /4NE /4, W /2NE /4NE /4 <br />Section 35: Portion of SW /4, SW /4NW /4, W /2W /2SE /4NW /4 <br />Township 9 South, Range 89 West, 6th P.M. <br />Section 2: Portions of the NW /4, Portions of the N /2SW /4 <br />Section 3: NE /4, N /2SE /4 <br />The total permit area contains 1,086 acres. <br />A copy of the proposed technical revision is available for public inspection at the Garfield <br />County Clerk and Recorder's Office, Garfield County Courthouse, Glenwood Springs, CO <br />and at the offices of the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, 1313 Sherman St., <br />Room 215, Denver, CO, 80203, (303) 866 -3567. Written comments regarding this <br />application may be submitted to and additional information may be obtained from the <br />Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety at the above address. Written comments must <br />be received by the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety within 10 days after the date <br />of this publication in order to be considered. <br />
