Pineda Director The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 118, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on December 21, 2012, an application to renew an existing permit to conduct coal mining operations at the North Thompson Creek Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. All review and comment periods as provided in the Colorado Surface Mining Reclamation Act and the Rules initiate from this date of filing. The applicant MINREC, Inc., proposes to continue Underground coal mining operations on land located approximately 10 mile(s) Southwest of Carbondale, Colorado. The permit area is further described as follows: T8S, R89W; Portions of Sections 21, 22, 27, 28, 33, 34 and 35 T9S, R89W; Portions of Sections 2, 3 and 4 T7S, R88W; Portions of Sections 20, 29, 30 and 32 The above - mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Stony Ridge. This is an application for the renewal of the existing permit for the North Thompson Creek Mine. No new disturbances or activity is proposed. A copy of the renewal application is available for public inspection at the Garfield County Clerk and Recorder, 109 8th Street, Suite 200, Glenwood Springs, CO 81601, and at the Division office.
