The application was received on June 20, 2012 and called complete for
review on June 29, 2012. The application does not add additional lands to the permit area; it simply renews the
permit for next five year term. On November 16, 2012, Trapper provided the Division with updated threatened and
endangered species information. Trapper identified Greater Sage- Grouse has been deemed a candidate for
threatened and endangered status and have added this species to section 2.4.2; the Threatened and Endangered
Species section, of the permit. The last section 7 consultation conducted at the Trapper Mine was in June of 2009
during the Permit Revision No. 6 application process. This document can be viewed from the DRMS website at the
following web address: http: / /dnnsweblink. state. co. us /dnnsweblink/search.aspx ?dbid =0
The Division would like to confirm whether a section 7 consultation is necessary for this permitting action, and if so
DRMS is formally requesting to initiate this process with your office.
