COMMENTS
This was a partial inspection of the Keenesburg Mine conducted by Brock Bowles of the Colorado Division of
Reclamation,Mining and Safety. Donald MacDonald of Coors Energy Company was present for the inspection.
Weather conditions were clear,cool and no wind.There was a light snow cover on the grassy areas and the roads
were dry and stable. Ash was piled in the B-pit ready for grading (photo 1).

The North end of B-Pit was being backfilled with ash and cover material. The South end of B-Pit
continued to be backfilled with cover material. Marker post located next to the coverfill material indicated that the
backfill layer was 6 feet thick(photo 2).

The main haul road to B-Pit was recently maintained and appeared to be stable.
REVEGETATION—Rule 4.15❑ Vegetative Cover; Timing:
Area 25 had been seeded and mulched this past fall. There was no snow cover on the area and some soil
had been blown onto the access road south and east of the area. Don MacDonald reported that some grasses were
starting to sprout in Area 25.
